Michael K. Vanover;
4th Dan Jujutsu, USMAA
1st Dan Judo, USJA

Began his martial arts career as a young child, training in combative arts and judo.  Over the last 30 years Mike has trained and participated in several art forms including judo, jujutsu, taekwando, western boxing, brazilian jujitsu, mixed martial arts and advanced firearms and tactics.  On top of his formal, traditional training, Mike has trained and managed a mixed martial arts fight team, comprised of over 28 male and female, amateur athletes along with organizing and promoting mixed martial arts events.

Currently, Michael owns and operates, Lockout Jujutsu, which is dedicated to traditional Jujutsu techniques, modern combative’s and family self defense.  In a typical class Michael trains his students to avoid violent confrontation through non-violent means, fight to survive, protect their loved ones and get out of potentially bad situations.  Students are often surprised to find out that self defense is not all about fighting but is actually about preparation, understanding yourself and surroundings.

Outside of class Mike trains with experts in outdoor survival, and firearms tactics, further adding to his skill set.  Michael also works with Mastiff Protections Services which provides professional tactical training to law enforcement agencies, private parties and individuals.

Michael believes that the purpose of martial arts is to keep our country, ourselves, families and loved ones safe from people who would wish us harm.
